And she's back.....

I've landed in Hungary to do a seven week residency at The International Ceramics Studio. You can learn more about this place on their website: http://www.icshu.org/programs.html.

I've been here about 15 hours and so far it's all good. There is a great group of students from KCAI and George Timock has gathered some folks to be the "Special Artists" of this trip, of which I am one.

It has been over 20 years since I've been in Europe so everything seems new. I was very nervous and anxious on my way here and in planning to come, but most of that has subsided now that I'm tucked away in bed in my own room in a beautiful setting and after having spent the entire day getting to know some of the people I will be around for the next 4-7 weeks. There are about 18 students and 8 "Special Artists" here, with a few more coming later in the week so we're a decent size group. It should make for some interesting opportunities for impromptu studio chats with a diverse crowd, which I am looking forward to immensely.

Anyway, it's late and I'm attempting to miss jet-lag by going to bed after not sleeping for over 36 hours. We shall see how that goes...more to come soon....and pictures too! In the meantime enjoy this one:

Exposure....YES!

This is the current, September 2012, Ceramics Monthly magazine. It feels good to get an image of my work in this magazine.

Time Doesn't Stand Still...

...and clearly I don't as well.

A long, long delay in any sort of update. For now, as it is very late, I will leave you with this:

I am currently in Detroit, MI living as an artist-in-residence at Adoration (http://www.adorationdetroit.com/) working on a large scale piece for ArtPrize (http://www.artprize.org). More details to follow. I promise.

A Nice Photo I Found Online...

This is an image of an important art (specifically focused in the ceramic world) critic, curator, collector,  writer, and juror of one of the shows I recently got work accepted into that's currently up in Texas. I did not however win any awards, but just getting in the show is supposed to be good enough, right?

And another place you can see one of my works in person is at this place: http://www.kirklandartscenter.org/?q=content/clay-iv

Hopefully, I'll get my stuff together more often and post more updates more regularly. Until then....

HERE is now Red Lodge, Montana

It has been that way since September 2nd, 2011.

Four months into my eleven month residency. I can't believe how fast time goes by and by and by.

I can't believe it doesn't stop and I, along with all my friends, keep getting older and their families keep growing. I've just done some internet catching-up on friends and it makes me sad that our world is so big and distances are so great from me to all my friends. I wish the world was really small somedays and that life was a lot more simple. Alas, tis not the case.

Hopefully, I'll find more time to update this blog more regularly so others who may be interested in my doings and find themselves with a late night break can check up on me.

Tomorrow night is an opening for a show in which I have two new pieces on exhibit. The other artists in the show are: Katie Coughlin, Jill Foote-Hutton, Andrew Gilliatt, David Hiltner, Andrea Moon, and Markus Urbanik. It's my debut in Wyoming.

I miss y'all.
