I've landed in Hungary to do a seven week residency at The International Ceramics Studio. You can learn more about this place on their website: http://www.icshu.org/programs.html.
I've been here about 15 hours and so far it's all good. There is a great group of students from KCAI and George Timock has gathered some folks to be the "Special Artists" of this trip, of which I am one.
It has been over 20 years since I've been in Europe so everything seems new. I was very nervous and anxious on my way here and in planning to come, but most of that has subsided now that I'm tucked away in bed in my own room in a beautiful setting and after having spent the entire day getting to know some of the people I will be around for the next 4-7 weeks. There are about 18 students and 8 "Special Artists" here, with a few more coming later in the week so we're a decent size group. It should make for some interesting opportunities for impromptu studio chats with a diverse crowd, which I am looking forward to immensely.
Anyway, it's late and I'm attempting to miss jet-lag by going to bed after not sleeping for over 36 hours. We shall see how that goes...more to come soon....and pictures too! In the meantime enjoy this one:
